Kirkintilloch is a short run from our Cumbernauld base, and it makes up a solid part of our regular working week. The town has grown outwards from its canal-side core over more than a century, and that shows in the housing: you get everything from Victorian and Edwardian villas near the town centre through to 1930s semis, post-war estates, and newer private developments towards the edges of town, each with different heating quirks.

Waterside, right on the Forth & Clyde canal, has some of the older and more characterful housing in the area, including converted properties and homes close enough to the water that damp and condensation are a constant background issue.
